likes and dislikes about blogging

what i like about writing blogs is that it lets your thoughts out about your book and makes you think about your book more. What I dont like about blogging is that its not that entertaining and its kind of boring about how we prepare for it before we type.

Book Review

In the book "The Lightning Thief" By: Rick Riordan, the three main characters involved throught-out the book are Percy who is the narrator of the story he's the person the whole book wraps around and it dont help much that hes the son of a god. Then you have Grover which is the "the helper" who also plays a key position of percys cross-country trip. Grover is half boy half goat. Theres also Annebeth "the important sidekick" to the whole thing shes the one with the brains, the one that thinks before she goes out does something. The setting takes place in New York at the beginning of the book and the story often refers back to New York several times through out it. But alot of the book is across the United States as these three kids travel from New York to California. The book is about a human stealing a gods lightning bolt and the gods blame Percy for it because hes the son of one of the gods and only humans can steal from gods so they think that he did it and this story is about how he trys to uncover who did it and prove that he didnt do it. I would recommend this book because its very funny and theres hardly never a part during the story where this book is not entertaining. And for two this book is like 400 pages but it dosent seem like it all because its a quick read, you will never want to put it down. Third its written very good and its good for all ages to understand and love it.!

Quotes

Quote #1
On page 301 of the book "The Lightning Thief" By: Rick Riordan he writes, "Judgements for Elysium. Welcome, Newly deceased!" The quote is important to me because its funny hearing this from a god and this quote is well written. It kind of pulls you into the scene more.

Quote #2
On page 310 of the book "The Lightning Thief", Rick Riordan writes "Arrogant child. As if you have not already taken enough. Speak, then. It amuses that i haven't struck you dead yet." This quote is important to me bacause it shows his hatred toward Percy, and makes you wonder if Hades (the person talking) is going to kill him or what...

Quote #3
On page 352 of the book "The Lightning Thief", Rick Riordan writes, "You sound so much like your father." This quote is important to the book because it shows how Percy is maturing and growing up and how he's starting to make his own decisions and smarter ones..

What I would change in The Lightning Thief

One thing i would change about "The Lightning Thief" would be how it's all up to Percy Jackson to stop a world war three of taking place. When theres alot of other gods out there that alot powerful and stronger and more decietful than Percy. And these gods could easilly get the Lightning bolt back if they were allowed. But instead there making Percy do it. I hate how it hust rests on his shoulders and hes only 13 years old... I think this would make the book better because there would be alot more action between the gods and more dilemas and arguments if all of the gods were fighting with eachother.

Connection

My connection to the book "The Lightning Thief" By: Rick Riordan is how Percy Jackson troubles in school and never concentrates. It reminds me of my cousin Penelipe and how she struggles really bad in school and how she finds it boring and a waste of time past the 8th grade. In my book Percy has been expelled from 6 different schools in six years and how he finds school boring and un-intertaining which is the reason hes been expelled. My cousin has been expelled from one school and she has failed 10th grade, she troubles pretty bad in school. This helps me understand the book better because i understand how he feels ashamed and unfourtunate about him being bad.

Well, i just finished this book. An i have to admit that it was a reallly good book and i liked it alot i give this book a 9 out of 10 and thats only because it has a slow beginning so it might take about 40 pages to get going but once it gets going its a really good book and you will want to keep reading it.

Setting

My book takes place in San Diego, California during Steve Yorks senior in high school. But during this senior year in high school Steve spent most of his time "smoked out." Until graduation rolled around and Steve was about to fail unless he wrote a 100 paper for his princibal about anything that he wanted. He chose to write about when he lived in Texas so thats where half of the book is talking about his crazy time in Texas and his ex-perfect life with his girlfriend and bestfriends throughout his freshman through junior year and after that he was forced to move with his mother in San Diego, California where he is now.
